Khepri

$15.00

2 × 3 in. Original Woodblock Print

Product Description

Khepri is an archival woodblock print inspired by the Egyptian god of renewal and the eternal cycle of becoming. Named after the scarab deity associated with the rising sun, the piece explores the relationship between life and death, darkness and light, and the forces that quietly govern transformation.

The central scarab rests between symbols representing the sun and moon, while elemental markings and kanji for life and death frame the composition. Carved by hand and printed in stark black and white, the image embraces the simplicity and imperfections of traditional relief printmaking, preserving the physical marks left behind by the carving process itself.

Though modest in scale, Khepri carries the spirit of an amulet or talisman. It represents an early exploration into mythology and symbolic language, preserving ideas that continue to evolve throughout the archive.

Each print stands as both a finished work and a record of the paths that led to future creations.
